Last Friday, we organised the first Groupwide Interns Event in Brussels. This was a real success. Besides that, Melissa from Signapore stayed at my place and we had a relaxed evening (cooking, movie evening….) On Sunday I went for a nice brunch in Rheinlust with Julian, Juliane and Nicole. I really enjoyed my weekend. Unfortunately I missed the national conference in Belgium but you can not be everywhere at the same time... Still a few days and my parents are back from their LOOOOOONG holidays in Spain.

A daytrip to Phantasialand

Finally, I managed to stay a weekend in Bonn? It was interesting I have to say.
Friday, Maria visited us and we cooked all together and saw the movie: before the sunrise. This is not immediately my thing and after some time, I felt asleep. Saturday morning we left for Phantasialand. The weather was not immediately super but I had a great time. Lots of attractions are not in open air so the rain was not disturbing. Besides attractions, they also do have good shows. Phantasialand is only 10 minutes from Bonn. In the evening, I was tired and just relaxed, the same for Sunday evening.
Sunday morning, up to a nice brunch place with my rollerblades. This was really good. In the late afternoon, I went to CINEDOM in Köln to catch up with Kasia and Willie and we saw in GERMAN the movie: Flight plan with Jodie Foster. So by now I should be ready for the week.

Visit from Maggy

It is great to have my best friend coming over to Bonn. I showed Maggy my office and after that, we went to the city center to have a nice afternoon shopping. By the way, finding a postcard from Bonn seems not to be that easy. Clothes, presents, jewelry, what else do you want? We did a good job and I still keep on discovering nice shops and I have plenty of ideas for Christmas presents ( already). In the evening, we had a nice friends evening and mainly nice updates and chats. On Sunday, I prepared a nice brunch and we went for a long walk in the area. This was a relaxed weekend.

Weekend to Düsseldorf and Bielefeld

This weekend, Zsolt, Natasha and myself got a pool car from the company for the weekend. We were representing DHL at the national conference of AIESEC in Germany. We had to be there on Sunday at 9h in the morning so we decided to leave on Saturday morning to go first to Ikea. I bought new blinders for my room and also a new carpet. It looks really nice.
After Ikea, we went to Düsseldorf. I really like this city. It is really a shopping paradise. Besides that, it has a really nice harbour that we visited. Later in the afternoon, we decided to leave to Bielefeld to the conference. www.mappy.com is good when you decide not to change plans otherwise it is really crappy. I decided to buy a map of Germany for all the further trips that we are planning to do. The global village was good and on Sunday, our presentation went pretty well and Maria got awarded for her good work as key accounter for DP. I realised for the first time after a few months out of AIESEC that I really miss it.
After that, back to Bonn and dropping Maria in Aachen.

On Sunday, Ari from Antwerp showed us around in the city of Diamonds. He knows a lot about this beautiful city. After that, back in Brussels: The beerpalace “ Delirium” had their live band and on Monday, Dounia prepared a Treasure Hunt in Brussels. Besides the trainees, I was also really happy to see Maggy, Robin, Toon and also trainees from Brussels.

Last weekend I was at home. Together with 11 other Bonn trainees, I went to Belgium to visit Brussels. It was a great time. We went to the Atomium, European area and it was Sleepless Night in the evening.
