Salsa!

Salsa!

Last week was really a full program but I enjoyed it! On friday, Jennie organised a surprise party for the birthday of Daniel. I hosted it in my room and it was really fun. We played mafia mafia and talked till late in the morning. Saturday was Natasha and Andrews byebye party:( We had a BBQ along the Rhine and the Portugal won from Mexico. Naja! The next day I went home to visit Louis, my sisters new babyboy. He is sooo cute. (but most babys are, nope?) And then I had the great opportunity to use this Mitfahren (a german concept which I do NOT recommend at all). My first and last experience. On monday we went to our weekly salsa course. We started with 5 pairs and now we are only 2 pairs left. On the picture you see my office mate Bonnie and his princess Jennie. Today there was the "last drink of Natasha and Andrew" but I am not sure if they are really leaving now:)
I WILL MISS THEM

Daniel before and after

Daniel before and after

Daniel is the boyfriend of Jennie Lee. Jennie was a trainee but now she is a full time employee within Deutsche Post worldnet. Daniel had long hair (ponytale for more than 10 years!!!!). Eva Verhaeghe gave Jennie, Daniel and me a reduction coupon for the hairdresser and Jennie and I made an appointment. I do believe the hairdressers convinced him!
It looks very nice:)

Byebye Eva

Eva is heading back to Belgium. Her traineeship is already finished. She has so much luggage but we were enough people to carry it. Matthieu will be hopefully on time in the station so he can help her. Eva, I am already missing you!!! Coming back with my 2 friends, Jennie and Daniel, we had a spontaneous lunch and now I feel there is a little emptyness here in Bonn:( Naja, life goes! And yes, we meet each other back in Brussels but it is not the same Bonn trainee community.

Super Deutschland

Worldcup

Yesterday, Germany played for the second time. Normally would go to the center but Eva still had to pack a lot since she was leaving. So we decided to watch it in the nice decorated room of Sandra, my colleague. Of course, we are supporting Germany (even Amit was watching the game!! and he is not so keen on football at all)
Germany on with 1-0 and we went to a nice bar in the center (Bönsch??) to celebrate it! The Germans were just soo crazy but the atmosphere was perfect. I think it is a good timing to be in Germany when the worldcup is here.

Friday, the opening game of the World Cup 2006. It is just the perfect time to be in Germany. The atmosphere is there and we are supporting Deutschland. Saturday was a day of relaxing, shopping and in the evening, we had the BBQ for Eva Verhaeghe's farewell. snik snik.... she is leaving us, my friend here in Bonn. Naja, we see each other in Brussels but the situation is different. In the evening we went out to a place here in Bonn. I did not really want to go but in the end it was really nice! We stayed until the end, around 5h and we had some small breakfast at Michael (a colleague)'s place. We wanted to go to Köln but decided after all to go home so we were finally home around 7h...;

The weather was amazing.... we are ready to start the BBQ. Bonnie, the successor of Natasha (MBA program) and now my new colleague offered 1 soccergame from the worldcup to come to the byebye of Eva Verhaeghe.

Bonn trainees in Berlin

Bonn trainees in Berlin
Originally uploaded by Eva Mattheeussen.
This weekend, we had a nice trip to Berlin! We left with 13 trainees from Bonn and I was kind of organising the trip. we were not so lucky day one since it was raining all day long. In the evening we were too tired from the night train so we went to bed pretty early. Day 2 was the best day! We had Anette, a previous MC member from AIESEC in Germany who was so kind to be our guide for the whole day. In the afternoon we joined the parade in Berlin (Karnaval der Kulturen)!!!! Only for half an hour and after that we went to a kind of Global Village. In the evening, we did some more sightseeing. Mondaymorning, we had a museum trip to the Jewish museum and after that, we already had to take the train back to Bonn. Tomorrow back to work!!!
